  • Sandhar, Winnercom Sign 50:50 JV for Connected Car devices

Sandhar Technologies Ltd. and Winnercom Co. Ltd have signed a 50:50 joint venture for manufacturing and selling, inter-alia, electronic parts and accessories for the automotive industries in India. This JV will help the Indian auto majors in sourcing high quality products at a cheaper price including shark fin antenna and micro pole antenna and other products for the four-wheeler segment, claims the company. The JV company is expected to commence commercial production and supplies by the beginning of next financial year from its new factory premises in Bengaluru to the major OEM’s.

The JV company shall ramp up its production and product range in a phased manner focusing on increased localisation and indigenisation of the material sourcing. The move will consolidate Sandhar’s entry into the connected car devices market which is estimated to be worth $57.15 bn by 2021 driven largely by government regulations for safety along with increasing electrification of vehicles.

Jayant Davar, Founder, Co-Chairman & Managing Director of Sandhar Technologies Limited, said with a very low density of cars per person in India and an expected revolution in vehicle mobility and connected vehicles the high quality and innovative products that the JV company will supply has a huge potential.

Seong Hoon Jeong, CEO of Winnercom Co. Ltd., said that this JV has the potential of not only having a positive impact on the Indian Automotive industry but also the Global Automotive industry.

Winnercom Co. Ltd was established in 2000 in Gyeongnam Korea and is a major global player in the field of Antenna (RADIO, GPS, DMB, TMU, WIFI, LTE, LF) and RF Feeder Cable. Apart from a factory and a technical center in Korea, it also has manufacturing facility in China.
