A CSR initiative From Sandhar
Company has espoused for itself the philosophy of “Growth, Motivation and a Better Life”. This philosophy is the guiding principle for all its activities, whether be it in business or for society in large. Company believes that it not only has a legal obligation to give back to the society what it gets, but there is a societal element too while it moves forward in its path of sustainable growth. Therefore, even before the legal obligation appeared on the anvil and found a place in corporate sphere, it was already ingrained into the Company’s value systems whereby SANDHAR FOUNDATION was incorporated as a Trust for undertaking various activities as part of Corporate Social Responsibility since 2010 onwards.
Taking these practices forward, the Company’s Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Jayant Davar institutionalized the concept of triple bottom line accountability represented by Economic Success, Environmental Responsibility and Social Commitment.
As Excellence is just about setting high standards, following them without exceptions while continuously looking for ways to improve. & for a globally competitive auto component industry, the entire value chain has to match up to the global standards. We have to be competitive tier to tier and end to end. ASDC was incorporated to make the nation self-sufficient in skilled manpower in Automotive Industry. It aims to skill and certify 25 million youth in a period of next 10 years. Automotive Skills Development Council is a joint initiative of Government of India, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA).
After walking miles of VSME & ZED Cluster journey, team has now initiated another journey of “SSDC i.e. Sandhar Skill Development Centre”. SSDC is a joint effort of Sandhar & ASDC to support the Industry to achieve new milestones through skilling & up-gradation of Associates .It is basically a training program available for those under privileged human resources, who could not achieve the desired education and skill to have a suitable job in Industry. Potential candidates are selected independently from the market sources or employee references. Program is spread over 12 weeks to train the associates through theory as well as practical training so as to make them capable to win their dream job with in Sandhar or to support the Industry outside as well .This initiative is another step in the direction of CUSTOMER DELIGHT. As Culture of an organization is always very important which defines the pace of its growth. To keep pace with the industry, we need to gear ourselves to be abreast of the latest technological advancements, adapt best manufacturing practices, train our people, implement learning’s and then re-train to achieve excellence in work practices.
